이야기꾼의 유쾌한 귀환! 방귀 한 방으로 뒤집는 세상 이야기 “옛날 옛날, 아주 먼 옛날에~” 사람과 사람이 눈을 맞추고, 숨을 맞추며 이야기를 나누던 그 시절의 정겨움. 지금 우리는, 그런 따스한 연행의 순간을 얼마나 경험하고 있을까요?〈천하무뽕〉은 한국 전통 이야기꾼의 연행을 현대적으로 재구성한 작품입니다. 사랑방에서, 장터에서 어깨를 맞대고 마주 웃던 살아 있는 소통의 힘을 오늘의 무대 위로 다시 불러옵니다. 그리고 그 중심에는 관객이 있습니다. 관객의 참여로 완성되는 공연! 관객은 단순한 관람자가 아니라, 목소리를 내고, 역할을 부여받아 이야기를 함께 만들어가는 공동 창작자입니다. 이번 시즌에는 브이오랩의 영상 기법이 더해져 무대와 영상, 배우와 관객의 경계를 허물며 완전히 새로운 소통 방식이 펼쳐집니다. 한국적인 해학과 풍자 예상 밖의 웃음과 감동, 함께 만드는 유쾌한 반전의 연극!
이야기의 바탕은 익숙한 민담 ‘방귀쟁이 며느리’입니다. 하지만 확실히 다릅니다. 배우이자 작가인 손혜정이 여성, 그리고 며느리로서의 당사자적 시선을 담아 ‘이뽕순’이라는 새로운 인물을 만들어냈습니다. 모든 것이 완벽한 ‘황금별’에서 단 하나, 방귀를 참아야만 하는 삶의 모순을 견디지 못한 이뽕순의 탈출기는 익살스럽고도 절절하게, 진짜 숨 쉬며 살아가기 위해 놓치지 말아야 할 어떤 것을 우리에게 말해줍니다. 〈천하무뽕〉은 마당에서 태어나 무대와 스크린을 넘나들며 지금 이 시대, 이야기꾼의 방식으로 세상과 다시 연결되는 새로운 이야기입니다.

How often do we feel that kind of warmth in today’s world? The Amazing Fart is a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Korean storytelling. It brings back the spirit of live, heartfelt exchange—once shared in village guest rooms and bustling markets—to the modern stage. At the heart of this piece is the audience. This is a performance completed through audience participation. Spectators become collaborators: speaking, taking on roles, and helping shape the story alongside the actors. This season, innovative video techniques by VO-LAB erase the boundaries between stage and screen, performer and spectator, creating a new form of live interaction that is unexpected and delightful. With Korean-style humor and satire, surprising laughter and emotion, a joyful twist unfolds—created together by stage and audience. The story is rooted in the well-known Korean folktale The Farting Daughter-in-Law, but this version is unmistakably different. Actor and writer Son Hye-jung offers a fresh, female perspective through the character of “Lee bong-soon,” who dares to escape a “Golden Planet” where even farting is forbidden. Her journey is silly, sincere, and subversive—a powerful metaphor for reclaiming the right to breathe, live, and exist freely. The Amazing Fart is a new tale of our time, born in the madang (courtyard), traveling across stage and screen, and reconnecting people—in the playful, powerful voice of the modern Korean storyteller.
