어둠 속, ‘그’는 HMD를 착용한 채 가상의 신전에 갇혀 있습니다. 그곳에서 그는 자신이 누구인지, 왜 이곳에 있는지를 탐색하지만, 보이는 세계는 단 하나뿐입니다. 신전의 벽, 끝없는 계단, 그리고 하늘에서 들려오는 음성. 그는 자신이 갇혀 있다는 사실조차 인식하지 못한 채 그 공간이 전부라고 믿습니다.

한편, 관객은 이 공연을 보러온 관객이자 동시에 ‘그’를 유일하게 구원할 수 있는 구원자, 헤라클라스의 후보입니다. 이들은 자신이 헤라클레스임을 시험받고 이를 증명하여 ‘그’와 조우하게 됩니다. 이때 이들이 보는 것은 두 개의 상이한 세계입니다. ‘그’의 육체는 현실에 존재하지만, ‘그’가 인식하는 곳은 VR 속 가상의 신전이기에 관객 또한 현실의 무대 위에서 ‘그’의 모습과 가상세계의 ‘그’의 모습을 각각 보게 되는 것입니다.

또, 이 작품에는 안내자가 등장합니다. 안내자는 관객과 ‘그’에게 끊임없이 정보를 제공하고 이 공간의 규칙들을 설명합니다. 그러나 안내자의 말들은 모순되고 조작적임이 점차 드러나게 됩니다. 극의 후반부, 안내자가 말합니다.

"그곳이 진짜 세계라고 확신할 수 있는가?“

과연 ‘안내자’의 정체는 무엇일까요?
갇혀있는 ‘그’는 신전의 허상을 알게 될까요?
그리고 관객들은 갇혀있는 ‘그’를 구원할 수 있을까요?

In the darkness, He is trapped inside a virtual temple, wearing a VR headset (HMD). There, He searches for who He is and why He is there, but only one world exists within His perception: the temple’s walls, endless stairs, and a voice echoing from above. Unaware that He is imprisoned, He believes this space to be the entirety of His world.

The audience attending the performance are not mere spectators. They serve as candidates of Heracles, the only ones who may liberate Him. Under the Guide’s instructions, the audience completes a series of trials to earn the right to meet Him.

Following this, two separate worlds are revealed to the audience: one is the real world where His physical body exists; the other is the virtual world in which He is imprisoned. The audience must independently choose which world to observe and which perception to trust.

The Guide enters as part of the performance structure. He begins as an informative figure, presenting the rules, but as the performance progresses, His words expose inconsistencies and manipulative intent. Finally, the Guide poses the following question:

"Can you be certain that world is real?“

Who, then, is the Guide? Will He awaken to the illusion of the temple and recognize reality? And can the audience ultimately liberate Him?
